JigScape privacy policy
Last updated: September 9, 2026
This policy describes how the JigScape team (“we”, “us”, or “our”), reachable at support@sproutlingsgame.com, handles information in the JigScape app and these JigScape pages on sproutlingsgame.com. Policies for other games on this site are linked separately.
Photos and shared play
Selected photos are sent for an automated safety check. Hosting a multiplayer puzzle uploads its photo so other players can see it.
Local puzzle saves
Solo saves and appearance settings are stored on your device. Account, advertising and purchase services involve external providers.
1. Accounts and support
JigScape uses Firebase Authentication. A guest account receives an account identifier. Depending on the sign-in method you choose, Firebase and the sign-in provider process your email address, phone number, authentication credentials, and Google profile information such as a name or profile image. JigScape also stores your chosen username, display name, account identifier and profile timestamps for account features, invitations and shared play.
If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you send. We use it to respond, troubleshoot problems, verify ownership, and process privacy or deletion requests. Never send passwords or verification codes to support.
2. Selected photos and safety checks
You choose which photo to import using your device's picker. Importing a photo sends the selected image through Firebase Cloud Functions to OpenAI's image moderation service for a safety check, including for solo puzzles. The check can block an image or report that checking is unavailable. Do not import photos you do not have permission to use or share.
Our moderation function does not save the raw photo as a safety-review record. A flagged safety-review record may contain the account identifier, image hash, file size and format, moderation result and scores, provider request identifier, IP address, user-agent information and timestamps. Service providers may handle request data and security logs under their own policies.
When you save a solo puzzle, JigScape stores a copy of its selected image and puzzle progress on your device. We retain original encoded photo bytes; embedded image metadata may remain in saved and shared copies. Remove sensitive metadata before importing a photo if you do not want it included.
Hosting a multiplayer puzzle uploads a copy to Firebase Cloud Storage and shares access through the session. Other participants can receive the photo. A person who obtains a session code or shared image link may also gain access; avoid sharing private images or forwarding these links beyond your intended players.
3. Shared puzzles, invitations and chat
Firebase stores session identifiers, join codes, usernames, membership, puzzle configuration, piece positions and progress, invitation information and statuses, and chat messages with sender identifiers and timestamps. These records enable the shared board, invitations and conversation. Your display name and messages are visible to relevant players; username lookup and invitations can reveal your chosen public username.
Other players may retain copies of information you share. Ending a session or leaving it is not an account-deletion request and does not necessarily erase the session's stored records.
4. Information stored on your device
Solo puzzle images and saves, piece arrangements, rotation and difficulty choices, appearance preferences and onboarding flags are stored locally. JigScape does not sync solo saves or appearance choices across devices. Your operating system may include app data in device backups according to your settings.
5. Advertising and device information
JigScape uses Google AdMob to display and measure ads. AdMob and its partners may process advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location inferred from that address, device and app information, ad interactions and diagnostics. Whether ads are personalized depends on consent, device permissions, regional requirements and service configuration. These advertising practices may involve tracking across apps or websites.
Where available, use More → Ad privacy choices in JigScape to review consent options. You can also change tracking or advertising permissions in your device settings. See Google's advertising information. We do not use puzzle photos or chat messages as advertising targeting inputs in JigScape.
Firebase security and hosting services also process technical information, such as IP addresses, request logs, app information, and device-integrity signals, to authenticate requests, protect services and investigate failures or abuse.
6. Purchases
Apple or Google handles store purchases. RevenueCat helps check and restore paid access and may process an app-specific customer identifier, purchase and subscription information, transaction references, platform and device information. JigScape's purchase integration does not provide us with your full payment-card details. Store purchases remain subject to the store's billing and privacy policies.
7. Why we process and share information
We use information to provide account access, generate and save puzzles, support multiplayer and chat, check image safety, deliver paid access, display ads, respond to requests, secure the service and meet legal obligations. We share the information needed for these purposes with the providers below and with other players when you use shared features. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to investigate abuse, protect people, or resolve disputes.
8. Service providers and this website
- Google Firebase: authentication, shared data, file storage, functions and security.
- Google / AdMob: sign-in, advertising and related services.
- OpenAI: automated image safety checks.
- RevenueCat: purchase validation and paid access.
- Apple and Google Play: store transactions and platform services.
- Vercel: hosting these website pages and processing ordinary web request and security logs.
These JigScape website pages do not require an account, contain an advertising or analytics script, or store a deletion form submission. Email links open your email service; a request is submitted only when you send the email. Other pages on this domain may load their own resources.
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their contractual commitments and privacy information describe the safeguards and retention practices that apply to their services.
9. Retention and deletion
Local saves remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app's local data. Shared account, puzzle and chat records are retained to operate those features until deleted through our support process or other applicable cleanup. Some expired invitation records are cleaned up automatically; that cleanup does not delete your account or shared photos.
To request deletion of your JigScape account and associated data, visit Account and data deletion. You can also request deletion of specific data while keeping the account. This includes Google sign-in and guest accounts, and does not require reinstalling the app. We verify ownership and process verified requests within 30 days.
Limited transaction, legal, security, safety-review or request-handling records may be kept for the applicable legal period or the duration of the documented purpose requiring retention. We explain relevant exceptions in our response. Provider backups and logs may expire on the provider's own schedule. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a store subscription or delete your original camera-roll photos.
10. Your choices and rights
You can choose which photos to import, avoid shared sessions, delete local saves, adjust advertising permissions, and contact us about access, correction, a copy of your information, or deletion. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, opt out of targeted advertising or certain sharing, and complain to a data-protection authority. Use support@sproutlingsgame.com to make a request. We may ask for information needed to verify and respond to it.
Where EEA or UK data-protection law applies, the relevant basis depends on the feature: providing the service you request, legitimate interests in service security and support, compliance with legal duties, or consent where required, including for applicable advertising and tracking.
11. Children's privacy
JigScape is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through JigScape, contact us so we can investigate and arrange appropriate deletion.
12. Security and policy changes
We use access controls and encrypted network connections for the app's service requests. No service can guarantee absolute security. Keep account credentials and session links private. We may update this policy when features or practices change and will revise the date above.
